Joey Fala is a masters student at Yale studying with Martin Jean and Thomas Murray. A native of Honolulu, he began organ studies with Katherine Crosier and later coached with Alfred Fedak and Christian Lane, while living in the capital region of New York State. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2015 with a B. Arch and M.S. Lighting.
Joey is currently the organ scholar at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Norwalk, Connecticut, and has previously served as music director at First United Presbyterian Church in Troy, New York, and organ scholar at Central Union Church in Honolulu. A recipient of the Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Scholarship from the American Guild of Organists, he was awarded second place in the 2013 Region II AGO/Quimby competition for young organists, and was recently named one of “20 under 30” by the Diapason magazine.
