Aleksandr Novoselov was born in 1984 in Russia where he began to study piano at age 7. He graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory in 2008 as organist and pianist. In 2010 he received "Master of Arts and Humanities" at the St. Petersburg State University in Organ Performance. In 2013 Novoselov received his Post Graduate degree in Organ performance at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory studying under Daniel Zaretsky, Professor and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Aleksandr Novoselov has been awarded a number of prizes from national and international competitions:
2007 – Diploma "Virtuoso", national organ competition "Soli De Gloria", Moscow,
2008 – Third Prize, international organ competition Gatchina /St. Petersburg,
2009 – Special Prize called "The Hope of the Motherland", Mikael Tariverdiev
international organ competition, Kaliningrad, Russia,
2010 – “Anerkennung Preiz”, the Georg Muffat international organ
competition, Linz, Austria,
2011 – Third Prize, “Organ without Borders” international organ competition,
Luxemburg, and
2012 – Second Prize, national organ competition, Kaliningrad, Russia.
Aleksandr Novoselov has participated in master-classes by Ludger Lohmann, Wolfgang Zehrer, Olivier Latry, Peter van Dijk, Bernard Winsemius, and other famous organists. He has given solo performances in Russia, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and the United States.
From 2008 until 2015, Novoselov served as a Concert Organist on the Rudolf von Beckerath organ (4 manuals, 67 stops) at the Palace of Arts in Kondopoga, Russia, where he performed both solo recitals and concerts with instrumentalists, vocalists, and choirs. Novoselov is an organizer of the "Grand Orgue"; annual Organ Festival, in Kondopoga, Russia. He also performed as the invited organist for the Penza Philharmonic, Penza, Russia. Other performances of note are:
2013 – with the Essen Philharmonic, Germany, along with other prize winners of the European Organ Competitions,
2014 – at the International Music Festival organized by the "Rusart" concert agency in Baku, Azerbaijan; the Cultural Olimpiada, Sochi, Russia; and the "ll Kriisas Master Organ Festival", Estonia.
2016 – first recital in the United States with violinist Natalia Nizhalova at the First Presbyterian Church in Muncie, Indiana.
May 2017 Aleksandr Novoselov graduated as a Master of Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana in the studio of Craig Cramer.
Since 2017 Aleksandr is organist of the Karelian Philharmonic.
