Christian Alejandro Almada studied piano at the Conservatory of Music in Cordoba (Argentina). He also studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. Mentored by Professor Theo Flury, he earned the first- and second-level diplomas in organ performance and organ composition at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome. He specialized in French symphonic repertoire with Ben van Oosten. As an expert in Gregorian chant, which he has sung daily for more than 25 years, he collaborates with monastic communities in Italy, Spain and the United States. Since 2008 he has been the titular organist at the Papal Basilica of Saint Paul outside the Walls (Rome), where since September 2015 he has also directed the music office.
During the “Jubilee Year of Mercy”, he started and led several choral groups, including the Polyphonic Liturgical Choir of San Paolo fuori le Mura, for the Sunday celebrations in Saint Paul outside the Walls. He composes vocal and organ pieces for the liturgies.
His international concert career as pianist, accompanist, choral director and organist takes him to several countries.
In 2016, he published “La voce del Signore è Potenza” (The Voice of the Lord Is Power) with CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform. It is a collection of responsorial psalms composed for Sundays and feast days of the liturgical year as well as the Santorale. He served as choirmaster and first cantor at the Pontifical Athenaeum Saint Anselm in Rome from 2004 to 2010, and he was a lecturer at the Monastic Institute from 2008 to 2010. As a graduate in philosophy and doctor in theology, he regularly holds conferences in Italy and abroad and guides several groups of people on faith reflection themes.
