Simon Leach is the organist at the Holy Name Church, Manchester, England. He graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 1992, winning the Alice Shawcross Organ Award and the First Prize in the Prix Scarbo competition. He was then appointed organ scholar at the Liverpool Metroplitan Cathedral of Christ the King. Since leaving Liverpool, Simon has combined teaching at Withington Girls' School, The Manchester Grammar School and St Bede's College with a busy performing schedule. Simon has given solo recitals in many of the concert halls and cathedrals in Great Britain. He has toured Europe as an organist and continuo player, and he has worked with the London Festival Orchestra, Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata. His busy schedule this year includes recitals at Westminster Cathedral, St Thomas Church 5th Avenue and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. He has recorded a disc of solo organ music from the Holy Name Church and will be recording a DVD recording of the music of Naji Hakim later in the year.
